Hand Acupuncture – What’s it all about?

It seems hard to believe but it is possible to detect problems in your body and to effectively treat many ailments by simply stimulating your left hand. It does not require needles or a specially trained acupuncturist. You can in fact do it yourself at home with a small electronic device called Aculife. You don’t need any training other than the simple instructions that come with the device.

All of the body’s organs, muscles and systems are mapped out on your hand and any deficiency in one or more of these can be detected by sending a small electromagnetic current into your hand. The feedback generated by the Aculife medical device can identify what the underlying problem may be with a high degree of accuracy, and thus allow you to inform your physician of an underlying problem requiring treatment if one exists. For minor ailments and the treatment of pain, you can use the Aculife to do the treatment yourself at home.

So how effective is it? Well one Aculife user, Estelle, reports that “I’m medication free for over a year”, having been on a cocktail of powerful prescription pain-killers for several years prior to discovering Aculife. Don’t think that Aculife is a cure-all device because it isn’t. One physician in Dublin recently made the following observation having tested Aculife on patients in a Pain Management practice for a period of 4 months “The feedback has been mixed – some very positive and some patients not experiencing major benefits.  There are so many variables in the patients we see but I am sure there is a category for whom the Aculife is appropriate and helpful”.

As with all things in life, Aculife works really well for pain management in some patients and less well for others. Nevertheless, from a detection point of view, it is almost unique in its uncanny ability to discover problems in the body – many of which the user had zero knowledge about. Reason for purchasing Aculife:

Initially as a fascinating gadget, having experienced a demonstration in Singapore.

Wonderful fun as an after dinner/drinks piece of entertainment as it is consistently and uncannily accurate. (As expressed by my estimate of a minimum 95% of the hundreds of people that I have demonstrated the product to at Trade Shows between 2004 and 2006)

Previous Treatments Used:

Physiotherapy, Rest, Pain relieving mild drugs

Usage of Aculife:

• Occasional to check general state of health.

• More specifically to help treat muscular injury, discomfort or back pain

• Demonstrate at trade shows

Results:

• A back/shoulder injury had left me unable to even carry a briefcase. 4 months of physiotherapy every week and regular exercise was showing no real effect. Tried the Aculife and within 2 weeks I was lifting weights again. Amazing.

• The initial test in Singapore had correctly identified deep damage in a thigh muscle that had prevented me kicking a ball with my right leg for any distance. I finally had to stop playing rugby seriously as a result and the former life as a semi professional footballer became an impossible dream. After using the Aculife to ease the injury, I have built up to a point where I can once again kick a ball 30-40m and can play football and rugby with my sons.

• I have successfully treated with the Aculife (in as much as I feel better) shoulder injuries, lower and upper back pain, headaches, toothache and general stiffness.

• At times when I feel tense or stressed, I treat my lower neck acupoints with some good results

Severe Workplace Injury Treatment – Aculife User Experience

My husband was in an industrial accident 20 years ago and had his left arm mangled in a machine. Ever since, he has suffered from a constant throbbing in his upper arm and shoulder.

I actually got a loan of an Aculife machine from my brother-in-law because I was suffering from a painful knee problem due to a sports injury. I was walking with a limp and was experiencing severe pain. My doctor was recommending surgery.

Two courses of anti-inflammatories and a significant number of ibuprofen tablets.

Usage of Aculife:

Daily for the first two weeks and then every second or third day.

Results:

Aculife in a Therapeutic Practice – A Physiotherapist’s Experience

Reason for purchasing Aculife:

I originally purchased Aculife for use in my private physiotherapist practice as a diagnostic and pain management tool.

Previous Treatments Used:

Although manual handling skills are at the heart of any physiotherapy practice, we also use ultrasound and interferential for treating a range of painful conditions. Aculife has proved to be another extremely useful therapy for both confirming diagnosis and treating patients.

Usage of Aculife:

• Detection and confirmation of problems experienced by patients

• Pain management for arthritis, rheumatism and fibromyalgia

• Sports injuries

• Neck and shoulder strains

Results:

• Aculife has a 100% success rate at detecting underlying conditions

• Pain relief has been very successful in most cases and quite extraordinary in a small number of very difficult cases.

• A small number of patients did not get any significant benefits.

Overall Comments:

Aculife is a relatively new technology and is not yet a mainstream therapy. It is approved in the EU as a Class IIa medical device and therefore has been tested for safe use by humans. I have used Aculife on a trial basis outside the parameters of normal treatment techniques for about a year, with patient consent, and I am very happy with the results.
